The absurdity of academic talks

We’ve all been there … eyes glazed over while the speaker expounds with sonorous obscurities … trying to read the entire page of 10-point text on the faded overhead. Then the panel chair (after the 3rd try) convinces the august academic that time is up, and we struggle to track the 30-second blurb of speed-talking as the speaker tries to get across what seems to be most important.

Here is some strong medicine for that ailment.
